Come explore Plaza Dataran Merdeka, Dataran Underground, and the energetic KL Hari Raya Eid Mubarak Festival 2016 with me! Coordinated by the Kuala Lumpur Tourism Bureau to showcase the beauty and diversity of Malaysian culture and their cuisine, they extended an invitation not only to special guests but to every tourist in town to come enjoy themselves, and it was a day I won’t soon forget … with so much food I’m not even sure I captured it all!
This festival was an exciting way to launch the Kuala Lumpur Tourism Bureau’s new e-Magazine HELLO KL and you’ll see clearly in the video that Malaysians know how to throw a launch party (DO sign up for it, the link is below). Each month they’ll share what’s hot and happening in the city, and they’ve just added a ton of wonderful new things to do to have fun day or night to walk away knowing oodles and oodles about the city. From free DAILY guided heritage walks to helicopter tours and nature trails! I learned that and more while dancing and exploring dozens of diverse food and beverage stalls from restaurants and hotels from around the city at the KL Hari Raya Eid Mubarak Festival 2016.
The highlights of the day were a wonderful speech about unity and the beauty of diversity from the Honourable Mayor Datuk Seri Hj. Mhd. Amin Nordin bin Abd. Aziz – AND – the wonderful Malay, Chinese, and Indian dances. Celebrity Chef Wan was even there to help open the festival!

The Mayor’s speech moved me so much that it actually inspired my very 1st DIARY of AN AMERICAN LIVING in a MUSLIM COUNTRY vlog. It’s crazy long at 7+ minutes but it’s honest and from my heart.
